Alicia began her career with WMC in 1997, starting in the FMHA (now known as Rural Development) housing and accounting departments as an administrative professional. She later transitioned to the field with FGS, gaining hands-on experience packing out and cleaning fire-damaged properties. After two years in the field, Alicia returned to WMC, this time joining the marketing department, where she developed materials for both individual properties and broader corporate campaigns. Her versatility and commitment led her to step in as a leasing agent during a staffing shortage—an experience that sparked a passion for the dynamic challenge of student housing. She quickly became instrumental in achieving full occupancy across campus apartments, setting the foundation for her growth within the company. Alicia has since managed some of WMC’s most challenging properties, applying her problem-solving mindset to improve operations and resident satisfaction. “Turning properties around is my favorite part of this business. Taking a place from where someone has to live to somewhere they want to stay is the most rewarding part of this job,” she says. In her current role, Alicia oversees all aspects of Property Management operations at WMC, as well as leading the Service Department, which plays a key role in addressing deferred maintenance and restoring underperforming properties. Her leadership extends across both strategic oversight and operational execution, bringing deep field knowledge and a relentless drive for improvement. Alicia is also a licensed real estate broker for WMC and serves as the licensed contractor for FGS, reflecting her broad expertise and long-standing commitment to excellence across both companies. -
