It’s official! October is here. We aren’t sure where the summer went but we are happy to embrace the pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, leaf falling season of fall! In order to truly make the most of this time, here are our 5 favorite places to go in Wisconsin to soak up all the fall goodness.
Visit Schuster’s Farm in Madison, WI https://schustersfarm.com/
- Your one stop shop for fall fun. They offer pumpkin picking, an 8 acre corn maze, yummy treats, farm yard animals and many games and attractions for children. Ticket prices vary depending on whether you visit on a weekday or weekend and can also be catered to specific attractions, but your standard weekend “Farm Fun” ticket is around $11.
Take a seasonal walk at Devils Lake
- If you’ve never been to Devil’s Lake in the fall, you are truly missing out. Devils Lake has many incredible trails through its undulating landscape which can get you out of the canopy and give you a bird’s eye view of the stunning fall colors.

Visit the Cranberry Discovery Center in Warrens, WI
- Did you know that the cranberry is Wisconsin’s No. 1 fruit and was made the official state fruit of Wisconsin in 2004?! We found a fun fact on their website that says farmers in Wisconsin actually harvest enough cranberries annually to supply every human being in the WORLD with 26 per person?! Pretty incredible, right? This makes Wisconsin Cranberry Discovery Center a must visit. Visit Wisconsin’s largest pumpkin patch.
- Boasting over 60 attractions, Waldvogel’s farm claims to be the largest pumpkin farm in the state. Amidst their pumpkin patch, attractions include mini golf, a farm train, pony rides, a pumpkin launcher (!), face painting, tractor pulling…and the list goes on. - Ok, ok…so we’re not sure we could bare the thought of going, but Screaming Acres has been recommended to us so many times that we had to include it on the list. This one is for ages 12 and up (although children must be accompanied by an adult) and you can get in at $25 a ticket.
