The Energy Bus – The Importance of Energy at WMC

"To run a successful organization,” I say, “you must learn to manage people’s energy, including your own. Positive energy is like muscle. The more you use it the stronger it gets. The stronger it gets the more powerful you become. Repetition is the key and the more you focus on positive energy the more it becomes your natural state.” – Jon Gordon, The Energy Bus.

One of our 3 P's (the values that guide our culture) is 'be positive'. Why? Because energy is contagious. Whether that's between our property managers and residents or between management teams, or even our marketing team and our readers…our energy comes across in everything we do.

Russ, our President and CEO, has always believed that hard work and determination is the key to achieving results, but he also understands that our mindset allows us to overcome challenges in a receptive way, one where we can improve and learn from them, so that we can more effectively tackle the issue next time. A positive mindset keeps us open to that feedback.

As Jon Green writes in his book – “Positive energy and positive people create positive results. There is certainly a lot of negativity in the world and choosing positive energy helps us deal with the negative people and negative situations that can knock us off course.”
