Employee Spotlight: Niki

The next employee we want to highlight is Niki Tuttle who is our "Administrator of Awesome" here at WMC.

If you've ever stepped foot in our corporate office, chances are Niki will have been there to welcome you. Niki is our "Administrator of Awesome". Her role functions as the heart of our business, because, while she assists residents with inquiries and keeps our office running by creating and streamlining internal processes, she also supports, collaborates with and brings joy to every member of our team.

Here's a bit more about her.

What is your favorite thing about WMC?
I love the people and the variety. I work with some of the honest-to-God most delightful people I've ever met. Our residents are an eclectic bunch, and every day brings something new and exciting.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I don't sit still. I operate my own small business: I'm a seamstress, and an artist. I enjoy gardening (vegetables & flowers), I can, dehydrate and preserve the things I grow. As the Social Media and Public Relations Director of the Waterloo Business Association, I'm very involved in the city of Waterloo, and spend a lot of my time planning community events, and engaging the public via our media platforms. I also recently was appointed to the board of directors for the Waterloo Area Historical Society, and have been helping them come up with community engaging events to foster support and passion for the history of Waterloo!

What has kept you at WMC for 5 years?
For sure the family "vibe" and the variety of what I do every day. No two days are exactly the same, and the challenges keep me on my toes to try to creatively problem solve, find resolution, and keep everyone (relatively) happy.

What has been your biggest accomplishment since starting at WMC?
I've always got the "how can we make this process better?" question bubble floating over the top of my head. I've streamlined the process for miscellaneous income getting to the accounting department, created request forms for the acquisition of supplies, and maintain the resources everyone uses on a daily basis; from the property list in SharePoint, to contact information for the Corporate Maintenance Team for after hours emergencies, as well as resources for applicants and residents, like the Affordable Housing Hub List. And of course, making all of you smile and laugh!!

Thank you for everything you do, Niki!
