Compliance: Who Are They And Why Do We Need Them?

If you’re following us on social media, by now you will have seen that there are so many different components when it comes to Property Management as a whole. One of the most important but least known about is our in-house compliance department. 

So what do they do? Our in-house compliance department certifies income and expenses for all applicants and residents, ensuring program compliance for a variety of funding programs including Rural Development, Section 42 Tax Credit and HUD Programs, like project-based Section 8 and HOME. 

This team of experts, headed by Compliance Manager Ashley, includes credentialed Certified Occupancy Specialists (COS) and Spectrum Training Award Recipients (S.T.A.R). The WMC compliance department manages all aspects of the application and re-certification process to make sure we are doing things the right way.
