4 Ways to Stay Healthy in an Apartment Building

  |     |   Renters Tips

As we all adapt to the recent health crisis, there are a number of ways that you can keep yourself healthy if you live in an apartment building. Here are our top 4!

1. Take the stairs whenever you can. This will avoid the chances of you being in a poorly vented elevator, in close proximity to other residents.

2. Pay your rent online and call in maintenance requests instead of attempting to go to the office. This limits your interaction with other people. Although property managers are deemed essential workers, many offices will be closed and their teams running behind closed doors. Here at WMC, we have our offices closed to the public to ensure the safety of both our residents and staff, but our teams are working behind the scenes to provide the best customer service possible through the crisis.

3. Stay away from common areas as much as you can. At Wisconsin Management Company, we have closed our common areas to the public (except laundry rooms). If your property management team hasn't, we recommend avoiding them altogether.

4. Wash your hands often, especially if you had to touch a button, door or switch within your apartment building. When you do wash your hands, rub with soap and water for 20 seconds minimum. One way of counting is to sing the song "Happy Birthday" twice!

How have you been keeping yourself healthy in your apartment building?
