In our previous blog post, we discussed the Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program, and how the federal government is providing incentives to owners of private properties in order to increase the affordable housing inventory available to low- and medium-income households.
Here at Wisconsin Management Company, this cause is close to our hearts and one we are proud to support throughout rural Wisconsin. We currently manage over 2500 units of affordable and accessible homes and love breathing new life into older, affordable properties throughout the state.
Recently, our teams completed a $6 million renovation at Sunrise Valley Apartments in Lancaster, WI. Renovations were carried out over the space of one year and had a number of phases. We started with staggered renovations of the units themselves, including the installation of new modern shaker-style cabinets, new appliances, bathroom upgrades and a replacement of the ceiling fans and flooring. Once that was complete and residents were able to move back into their upgraded homes, the final phase was to move, expand and upgrade the community room which also serves as a community Meals on Wheels site. We couldn't be more thrilled with the finished result.
To celebrate the completion of the project, we hosted a Grand Re-Opening and Virtual Celebration to commemorate the revitalization of the property! This event honored stakeholders, including USDA RD, WHEDA, HUD, Cinnaire, Johnson Bank, The City of Lancaster, The Sunrise Valley Board and residents.
We wanted to give you a closer look at the work that was completed and give you the opportunity to hear from our partners, investors and residents about what this project meant to them. You can watch the full video at the link below.
Special thanks go to our honored stakeholders, who include USDA RD, WHEDA, HUD, Cinnaire, Johnson Bank, The City of Lancaster, The Sunrise Valley Board and Residents.
