  |     |   Renters Tips

You’ve just signed the lease and agreed on your move-in date – congrats! Now that you’ve found the perfect home, it’s time to make it your own. There are some simple and affordable decorating tips you can incorporate that you and your landlord will love.
Here are 5 tips on how to modify your rental space into a home that feels like you.

  1. Add art. Adorn your rental with art to your heart’s content. To avoid damaging your walls with too many nail holes, you can place the pieces on the floor, a mantel, or a bookshelf. Or you can look into wall-friendly adhesive options for easy and clean removal. If this feels overwhelming, a great place to start is second-hand or thrift stores. Get a feel for what you like, buy one piece at a time, and start decorating!
  2. Put down rugs. Keep the art to your floor by adding rugs! It’s a great way to add different colors to your home or separate out different spaces without having to put in a whole new carpet. You can get rugs from a thrift store, line them along your hallway, or use them as a statement piece.
  3. Fill it with comfy furniture. In order to relax in your new home, you need some comfortable places to rest. It’s important to invest in good furniture, as it can impact your physical health and be carried with you no matter where you call home. Plus, they can be fun design pieces and they don’t have to be expensive. Hit up those estate and garage sales and you’re bound to find some one-of-a-kind pieces for a fraction of retail price.
  4. Add some finishing touches. Nothing says “home” like photos of friends and family, fresh flowers, or your favorite blankets and pillows. These personal touches can’t be bought or repurposed, so make sure you incorporate them into your home decor so you feel right at home.

By incorporating these easy design and decor tips, your home will showcase your personality and style. It’ll help you enjoy your time in your home even more!
