Meet Beth, one of our Compliance Specialists here at WMC.
Our in-house Compliance Department certifies income and expenses for all applicants and residents, ensuring program compliance for a variety of funding programs including Rural Development, Section 42 Tax Credit and HUD.
This team of experts manages all aspects of the application and re-certification process to ensure the properties are in compliance with program requirements.
Here's a bit more about Beth.
What is your favorite thing about WMC?
We have some wonderful employees and I have learned so much from everyone. I have learned much about myself through the support of management.
What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?
I grow houseplants from seed and take care of them, I'm teaching myself Bonsai. I enjoy watching my kids play sports and do academic extracurricular activities. We have a new puppy as well as his kitty "siblings". My son and I also really enjoy going to Six Flags Great America during the summer! My favorite thing to do outside work is enjoy hot weather.
What has kept you at WMC for 10 years?
I appreciate that I have had so many opportunities to learn and get extra training. I love the people I work with, and for, and really enjoy my job. It is important to me that I do something that helps people and working with affordable housing is a rewarding experience!
What has been your biggest accomplishment since starting at WMC?
I was originally an Admissions Specialist and was given the opportunity to learn the Compliance Specialist job because a manager believed I could do it. I learned the job and have been continuously learning to try and be the best that I can be at my job.
